Tide Purclean Liquid

Being a Pre-K teacher means needing to wash regularly, because schools and children are not necessarily the cleanest. Not only that, but with my mother having a bone marrow transplant in the near future, it’s critical to change parts of our everyday home life. I’ve had sensitive skin for as long as I can remember. All of these factors add up to the necessity for a laundry detergent that gets our linens clean easily and naturally without long term harm.

Tide Purclean Liquid is Tide’s first plant-based detergent made of coconut oil, soy and corn and without dyes, phosphates, and fragrances. In my early stage of finding products for my sensitive skin, I turned to Tide PODS Free and Gentle Laundry Detergent, and it was a step in the right direction. Once again, years later, I’m turning to them for a more sustainable product that’s healthier for me, my family and the environment.

The detergent comes in Honey Lavender or Unscented and while the detergent is free of fragrances, it has a light, natural scent that I like. Although it seems like everyone including Tide has pods now, it’s not a hassle to use liquid detergent, especially since the cap serves as a measuring cup also. The dosing is pretty straightforward where if you have a super light load, you’d only fill the cup to the 1, and if you have a very full load, you’d fill it to the 5.

With natural and plant-based detergent that is free of dyes and excessive use of chemicals, clothes are more likely to last longer without fading or losing their color.

What I like about the release of plant-based products like this is that brands are helping people make a good choice for our sustainable future whether they consciously buy the product for that reason or they’re just looking to try something new.
